The game promises that itвЂ™ll be a remarkable journey expertly brought to life with gorgeous visuals, crafted, and tailored by VFX experts. In this game, players take control of Solo, a lonely officer worker whoвЂ™s trying to get back home in the face of impossible odds. Gaming is supposed to be a form of escapism, yet this one simulates the depressing tedium of a 9-5 cubicle job a little too well. The Plane Effect is an isometric adventure game. Players have the option to figure out puzzles step-by-step with no hints, or activate a little guidance on your impossible journey through 'Assisted-Mode'. The Plane Effect tries its best to be interesting but unfortunately fails to provide any entertainment value in whats ultimately a pretentious, self-centred affair. Navigate beautifully and elaborately designed, otherworldly environments and solve unusual puzzles to keep Solo moving through each area. Did it always take this long? Were the streets always a labyrinth? Where even is 'home'? All you know is that you must keep pushing ever onwards, you must keep going. Helpless over the cosmos, all you know is that you must return to your family, as soon as you can.ДЄs you progress through the dystopic cityscape, you quickly you realise all is not as it should be. It's your final day at the office, it is time to clock out and return home - loomed over by a cosmic anomaly with an oppressive, otherworldly force.

The Plane Effect Review вЂ“ GameSpewвЂ™s Score ItвЂ™s just a shame that the gameplay youвЂ™ll need to endure in an attempt to uncover those answers isnвЂ™t as enjoyable as it could be. Its art style, its eerie and slightly unsettling soundtrack, its dystopian sci-fi vibe it all leaves you with questions that youвЂ™ll be desperate to get answers for. Still, even with its frustrations, thereвЂ™s something alluring about The Plane Effect. You wonвЂ™t take fall damage, but you willВ have to make the climb all over again, which is more than enough punishment. Thanks to the fixed camera position, itвЂ™s often impossible to accurately control where youвЂ™re going, and so falling from great heights several times over might become a regular thing. Other times, however, you have to move vertically through an environment, perhaps via a spiralling walkway, or a Escher-inspired staircase.

It looks fantastic too a minimal colour palette has been employed to great effect. Its atmosphere is excellent, and as you move from one level to another, the ambience simply grows, creating a world that you donвЂ™t quite understand but canвЂ™t help but get lost in.
